madrid video and funky barricades

I believe it was Quique who said a while ago that he would like to see a video of the weird barricades from the Madrid production.
I've just uploaded a short clip to youtube:

The quality is not very good, because the video is old and converted from VHS, but it gives you an idea of the peculiar way the barricades were formed (and I like the idea of having Gavroche following Javert)

Wow! That's awesome! I have read about it being formed differently but never imagined it would be that different and complex compared to the standard version. Thanks for uploading!! (upload more...pretty please?)

More barricades (so that you can have a better look).

Here is the final battle, before the cuts, and before the conductors started rushing like mad through the whole thing in order to be done with the show in less than 3 hours.

Gracias, BigR! I've always been very fascinated by the Madrid production. The show is definitely due for a Spanish revival.

That vid reminds me of the tempo of the U.S. productions around that time. Everything was played out slowly. The audience had time to feel and absorb what was happening. Now it's just a race against time and penny-pinching. So sad.
