Mini Les Mis?

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/123804.html

Just read this this morning, and as I'll be in that area during that time I was thinking of checking it out. My mom and I saw Les Mis last Christmas in NY and I was thinking of taking her to see this.

Anyone know or have heard anything about this production? ie..what is an intimate and innovative production (aside from the small theatre)...thoughts?

I've seen a couple of things at Signature and I trust them to do a great job with Les Mis. If nothing else, it will definitely be a new and different interpretation, which is just what the show needs after 20 years of identical productions.

As for what it will be like... it's a blackbox. Pretty much everyone in the room gets a front-row experience, and Les Mis from the front row is very different from Les Mis in the rear mezzanine. I'm also grateful that the stage is the only thing they're sizing down--full-size cast, 14-piece orchestra, which sounded crappy and insufficient in the Broadhurst but could be overwhelming in Signature.

Haha I thought this was gonna be a Les Mis response to my "Mini Wicked."
