My Audition

I've decided on only these two songs, so vote for which one was better, don't suggest another one. I'm trying out for Enjolras.

Oh! And take into account the lyrics and vocal range of the songs. Which ones show off higher notes and which one can be (through lyrics) connected to Enjolras.

here's my selections.

The Glory (Ballad)

The time to stand has come at last
let the drums start their long long roll
the bridge is burned the die is cast
to his grace I comend my soul

For the Glory
For the dixie that I know
For the way of life we cherish
Let us die or let us go
For the Glory
For the home we hold so dear
let us give the last full measure gathered here
For the glory!

(goes up to a high B)

The Way Back (uptempo)
I'll find a way back to the higher ground
and see the view I saw before
I'll search the world until the answer's found
turn my dispair around forever more

Somehow I have to rebuild all the dreams
that the winds have scattered
from what fate has shattered
i'll retrieve what mattered

Somehow I have to go on till the evil
has been defeated
till my works completed
I will not be cheated.

God you must help me carry on
when it seems all hope has gone
I have got to carry on!!!

(Goes to a High A)

anyway I might be able to sing both, but if there's time for only one, this is the reason of the poll.

I prefer The Glory. I can completley relate that to Enjolras, and can see his personality in it. Those are both great choices though.
Salome

neither. do a good song.

how about old red hills of home from Parade

or

Raise the Flag of Dixie from Shenedoah

Old Red Hills is another great one, but I should never bring Jason Robert Brown to an auditon. I know the music director and he's capable of doing it, but I might not be capable of following the music. I've settled on these two. And I'm leaning towards the Glory, cause it has a nice B at the end and it's very Enjolras. Way back was an option cause it was uptempo and had some lower notes, but Enjolras only has a low note in Do you hear the people sing and most of the professional ones like Warlow strain on that anyway, no one cares. Thanks people for the input!
