My recording of "Confrontation". Tell me what youHere's a recording of Confrontation I made with myself a few months ago. I had a cold so my Valjean wasn't excellent, but I was rather pleased and what to hear what everyone thinks. One of my goals is to be in Les Miserables someday, with my target roles being Javert, Enjolras, Thenardier, or even Valjean.http://media.putfile.com/Me-singing--Confrontation--from-Les-Miserables |

That's great.
You're right, your Javert sounds so good. Very good job! |

Your Javert sounds like the guy on the TAC. | ||
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast |
This made me laugh! I'm not sure why! LOL! For your future reference "that guy" is Philip Quast. |

I liked it!
I definitly prefer your Javert than your Valjean. Maybe because you're more a barytone than a tenor... Have you ever took singing lessons? Do you consider taking some? A little more technique could help you: the voice itself is very nice, but you should have more "presence". I also liked the idea of "one voice for two characters" because in some ways, I always considered Javert and Valjean being very similar. In fact, they are like the two sides of on coin. Of course, they are not litterally the same, but both of them have a strong idea of what is "good" and "bad", "fair" and "unfair". They just deal with that ideas in completly different ways. "Faraway, so close". Congratulation by the way! keep working! |

Revisiting this, I'm not sure how I feel. I may have overdone the Javert. I really need to master my Javert by auditions in February. Maybe I'll redo this. Or does anyone else have another opinion? |
