nevermind

nvm
The Very Angry Woman

Sounds like someone is violating their contract, because although some of ALFOR is cut from the LMSE, On My Own is definitely still supposed to be in the show.

How odd. Shocked

Why would anyone want to cut them out?

If the girl playing Eponine couldn't sing them then replace her, don't cut the songs.

Shame about the camp Thenardier, he reeeeeeeally is not meant to be like that. You have my sympathy.

That's just super weird.

That is very strange.
You just would not expect someone to cut On My Own... its one of those songs that people will probaly want to hear.

Maybe you should subtly remind them that they are violating the contract.

And if the Thenardier can't change his voice to be less camp for the part, why is he doing it? Or is he actually playing him camp?

Hmmm I think somehow we are now trying to work the songs in the show cause a lot of people complained. Our Thenardier is not trying to play him gay it's just the way his voice is.... He is good at singing and everything but his voice is just feminine and lispy.

I hope it all works out, this is a great show. It sounds like the casting was a bit bad on the director's side, and it might make sense if they cut out two important songs from the show. What would Eponine do when she dies? Just give Marius the letter and collapse? On My Own is one of my favorite songs.

I don't know if they get new recordings, but the cast recording MTI gave us had a child cosette that sounded so whiney and young it's hilarious. It's not even funny. My group wanted to send them a recording of us because we thought theirs was so pitiful.

Camp Thenardier? Shocked

As several people already mentioned, cutting out songs is a contract violation, not to mention how in the Hell Eponine's going to die without aLFoR. And I have to agree that cutting out "On My Own"--even if it WAS legal--might actually release some of the show's draw, since that's such a popular song. Some kids went to our schools' production just because of OMO.
