Yes I believe MB and JOJ are good mates.I recall reading somewhere that a fan had told Michael at a stagedoor (or somewhere can't think where it was now.Would it have been The Palace during his stint as Count Fosco)?? that she was going to see JOJ last performance in Phantom and MB saying he'd just sent a card over to the theatre cos he obviously couldn't be there to see the show.

I would love to hear MB sing this role and with the 21st ann coming up, next year could be the year But I suspect it wouldn't be in the theatre production more likely to be in a set of Open Air shows or something like that.Good extra angle for the promotion - original Marius back 21 years later to play JV in the show he made his own debut in.It's sad to see MB not getting so much support here.I for one am thankful he played Marius it meant I discovered him much sooner than 1989 when LCE was in the charts. I haven't been able to get to Broadway to see him WIW so hopefully there will plenty of opportunity to see him when he gets back in the spring.

Can you believe it's 21 years.....where did the time go Very Happy LOL!!!

That's interesting to know. Smile JOJ's guested at a couple of Michael's concerts so it seems likely.

Quique, I am so so sorry for asking you this YET AGAIN, but would you mind so much as to post CDs 1 and 2? I'm sorry, I've just been into this thread to see the two CDs posted, but they've obviously expired. I am sorry for asking you this.
If you don't have time, please don't feel its obligotory - it is Christmas time which will mean you'll have a lot less time!

Thanks anyway,

Olly

Hey everyone, newbie here.

I apologize for brining up such an old thread but does anyone still happen to have these files and would be able to share them with me?

Any help would great, I'm looking forward to discussing my favorite musical with all of you!

Thanks.

Someone out there must still have the rest of these files!

Anyone? Anyone? Please!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if you're very, very good and make plenty of substantive posts that don't involve asking for recordings we're not allowed to share anymore, the bootleg fairy will come and put it under your pillow one night.
Elin

Besides that, the thread is 10 months old ..!
Orestes Fasting

It's been over a year since it died a natural death, actually--all the most "recent" posts have "sorry to bring up an old thread" tacked on.

However, if anyone who got the recording the first time around is still curious about the lyrics, I might be able to help in one or two spots.

I didn't get them the first time around but perhaps you could still help me?

There are two spots that I'm quite curious as to what the lyrics are...

1. The crowd's verse, Fantine's extra verse and Javert's extra verse in Fantine's arrest. The only part I can make out is Javert saying "A petty story: 'Please Monsiuer my child will die!" but that's about it.

2. The lyrics to Valjean's confession. I can make out everything up to about :45 but then it all just becomes tough to hear. I'm quite interested in what Marius' response is, it sounds like he's angered (as he should be).

Any help would be appreciated!
Orestes Fasting

The most I can get out of it is this:

Crowd:
Take this harlot [something something]
Let there be a full report
Let her go back in the morning
And then answer to the court

Fantine:
[something] Jesus, won't you save me?
Are there tears enough to cry?

Javert:
It's the same pathetic story:
"Please, monsieur, my child will die!"

I'm not really sure about the crowd's second line, but that's what it sounds like.

I'll get back to you on Valjean's Confession.

Thank you!
Quique

Yes! I've been dying to know what is sung during "Valjean's Confession." I wish they left that part in. I love it.

Requests of 1985 Barbican Recording - Come n' get it!

My last post had links to the first 12 tracks of the live Les Mis Barbican 1985 recordings. It is missing a couple in between. Those two are track 05 - What Have I Done, and track 13 - The Trial: Who Am I? Here's the link to track 05

Unfortunately, I've deleted track 13 (accidentally!) from my mac. So please ask around the boards to procure it. Heres another ten tracks that follow in Act I. Enjoy!

Heres the rest of Act I, and the beginning of Act II. They're labeled as if they are tracks on a CD. I think the original uploader (Quique) wanted it to be split among 3 audio cds. These would make up CD # 2. In any case, the following links are posted. Be forewarned though, track 07 is missing. My absent mindedness had me accidentally deleting "Do You Hear The People Sing?" Just ask nicely around the forum and perhaps someone can provide that missing audio file.
