Quique, I am going to kill you. You sing like this yet you still claim you sound like shit?
Dude, seriously. |

Hi
Enrique...you have very nice voice....serious. |

Quique |
Awww...thanks. You're all very sweet.
I don't think I sound like crap but, you know how it is? You're always your toughest critic. I hope others will record and post themselves singing something too. =) |

That's my problem. I'm told I have a good voice, but I hate it. I pick away at all of the mistakes until I hate the file I've recorded. |

It stings a bit at first as you naturally feel like you should do take after take until you sound "perfect" but that's all they really are - small mistakes or imperfections. We all have/do them. I still cringe a little hearing the last note in the "Bishop1" file I posted, hehe. But...eh...I'll get over it, lol.
Just record and post. We'll be niiiice, heehee! |

Btw...here's the first part of ECAET that I recorded and posted some time ago and left unfinished forever, hehe. I'm sure most of you have already heard it as I've posted it a few times before. It was very late when I recorded the first part and so I couldn't sing the loud part at that time or I'd wake everyone up, lol.

Ahhh... People truly are their own worst critics. I'm convinced I sound horrible, which is why I don't take any of my stuff seriously.
Ah, but Quique, you've got something going for you. Something good. Lazzy : I'm still waiting. Gettin' impatient here. |

I'm a big fan of yours and I love any version of One Day More I can find, but the link isn't working! |

Re: I wanna be cool too
First of all: You have a great voice. Great voice. For criticsm: I liked your emotion in ALFOR, but I think you did a little too much riffing in On My Own, especially at the beggining. It sounded like you were trying more to show off your voice than connect with the emotion. You have a very pop-sounding voice, yet it's rich and has a good tone. Overall, you sounded great. Did you get the part? |

Good support, but try singing through the vowels instead of the consonants. It'll open up your voice a lot.
Also, MIDI backing tracks may sound hideous, but even if you just have one playing on headphones while you're singing and don't actually record it into the song, it'll keep your pitch from wandering too much. |

thankyouOh gosh, thankss.I don't find out if I have the part or not until after the 15th. And my chorus teacher taught me how to use breath support really well, and I kind of don't know how to back off. My friends say that it's because I'm fourteen and that it will all come with experience, so I guess singing perfectly isn't going to come over night. |

Alrighty...So I'm brand new to this forum and I thought I'd post myself singing "On My Own" a capella. Umm I'm auditioning for Eponine and I had planned on my audition song being "I'm Not Afraid of Anything" - Songs for a New World, but our director wants to hear all the girls trying out for Eponine singing On My Own.Anyway, since all of you guys on this forum are serious les mis buffs, I thought I'd ask if some of you could take a listen and tell me what you think... sorry about any pitch-problems as I did kind of just spontaneously record this... I'd really appreciate it if any of you could listen and tell me what you think, any improvements I should make, or if you think my voice isn't right for the part. I tried to upload it onto youtube... but it wouldn't let me, so I did sendspace instead: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zyu8pt Once again, thank you so much to anyone who listens + comments! - Megan |

Re: Alrighty...
K....first off..your file was VERY large, lol. I believe about 150 mb. But, anyway, you have nice vibrato and lovely soprano voice. However, this song requires belting. So, you're best off singing the role of Cosette. Try not to emulate Frances' style, cause I can hear it in your voice. Develop your own interpretation and style and go from there. Overall, very nicely done. But with a little more power, it'll really take off. =) |
