Cast RecordingsOk, so I was looking through my Les Mis album collection and I think it's time to order up some replacements.Half of the official albums I own are either horribly scratched up or they are missing the booklet, the cover insert, or both. And I have yet to purchase factory pressed versions of all the Japanese albums, which I'm sure you're aware, cost an arm and a leg each. I know of DressCircle and Footlight but after a search, it came up with only the 5 track UK national tour album, which I already own. They used to sell a crapload of Les Mis albums. All they have now are the English ones. I'm gonna try Amazon and ebay right now. Hope I get better results. Anyone know where else I can find copies of the international albums? I own factory pressed copies of the following but they're in bad condition and need replacement ASAP... -Original Czech Cast -Spanish Cast -Original Dutch Cast -Antwerp Cast -Danish Cast Albums in fairly good condition but want to replace anyway if I can locate an official copy... -Paris Revival -Vienna Cast -Duisburg Cast -Broadway Cast -10th Anniversary -Original Swedish Cast -Manchester Cast Albums in excellent condition... -London Cast -Complete Symphonic -French Concept Album And, of course, the rest are...--------. I would love to replace those with official copies. Although I'm sure that's nearly impossible for the Hungarian and Israeli cast albums. Any help would be great. Thanks! |

Have you seen this page of the dress circle website?
http://www.dresscircle.co.uk/shop.asp?CatID=1&CategoryName=CD&SubCategoryName=Stage%20Musicals%20-%20CD&Alph=M&ProductTypeID=11&page=5 I think it lists a few of the ones you mentioned, and when I was in the store a week or so ago they were definitely in stock. I used to have this idea that I would travel to all the countries that had a les mis cast recording and buy it there. It didn't get very far. |

Soundofmusic.de has a crapton of international cast recordings. Go to "CDs Musicals" -> M -> page 8 and 9. It's probably a site of last resort, due to shipping and euro-to-dollar conversion, but it does have almost everything.

Ooooh, thanks you two.
Anyone have this? http://www.soundofmusic-shop.de/CD_MISeRABLES_LES_-_Original_Paris_Cast__Frankreich-Konzept_Cast_4_CD.html I saw it once before at Amazon and thought it was a repackaged French Concept and probably one of those cheapo studio casts that spring up every now and then. But it clearly says "Mogador" in the track listing. So it's the French Concept and '91 Revival? Why is it so cheaply priced--roughly $40-45. That's actually what made me assume it was a some gross amateur studio cast thing. At close to $100 each, I'm gonna search ebay religiously for used copies of the Japanese albums. |

Dunno if it still does, but this site used to have suggestions on where to buy the individual CDs:

Quique, I have that particular box set. It is just the OFC and the '91 revival, but packaged in cardboard slipcases so the box itself is quite small which may be why it is sold more cheaply. That is a similar price to what I paid for it. It also has a random fold out poster thing with the concept lyrics on the back.

Yes, I have it too, I bought it in Paris this year, for about the same price. And it isn't a amateur studio cast thing. |

Ahhh. Thanks. I'm glad it's not some random studio cast thing.
Your links were all so very helpful. Especially the SoundofMusic and CastAlbumsCollector ones. I'll probably purchase one Japanese album and one of the cheaper ones (Madrid, Antwerp, Danish, or Czech) for now. |
