Remember the Les Mis singing contest I hosted once?This morning I remembered that a couple of years ago I organised a Les Miserables singing contest here on the forum, for fun.There were several categories, including: Best female solo Best male solo Duets Best actor/actress impression Funniest And everyone could send in songs to their hearts content. Then all the songs were listed for people to download and listen and everyone could vote for their #1 in each category. I thought it was a very fun thing to do, so... Is anyone interested in this little project? It is nothing like a virtual recording or whatever, just seperate songs and you can submit whatever you like. It was a huge success back then. 
If there is any enthousiasm for this, I'd be happy to host it once more

Not yet, it seems like people are into this, so I'll have to create a new thread and list the categories. Then you can start submitting. But this won't happen until June 7th because I have exams coming up. | ||||||

Hmm...I'm getting tired of singing the female songs (I'm in three different cast recordings, lol, with different roles in each...) but if we're allowed to sing opposite sex numbers...I might try to do this.

Could there be a "foreign language" catagory, since after all, les mis has been translated into I don't know how many languages.

There will be, since I love singing in foreign languages myself, (hence, I do it every day since my native language is Dutch and I sing mostly in English).
That's right. I still have to decide on which male solo I want to rape, hahaha. |

I'm really interested. But I have a question. Do the songs have to be from Les Miserables? Can we not sing something from another musical? If not, I dunno wether to sing Empty Chairs, Bring Him Home or I Dreamed a Dream (opposite sex). Are we allowed to do more than one? |

And you can submit songs for more than one category. Just one entry per category though. |

Also, can an actor impression also be considered for funniest? |

On the duet issue, if I wanted to sing the Eponine part of A Little Fall of Rain would I just submit that into the duet category? Or would I have to find someone who could sing the other part? | ||||||
