Rotterdam Brochure Scans (picture heavy)

I finally got my lazy bum to work (the scanner as well), so here are the pretty scans from the Dutch 2008 brochure. I've reduced them to a smaller format to make them load easier.. But if someone really, really, really wants the huge ass 1,3mb picture, I can send it I suppose.
Lots of Marius/Cosette sweetness in here.

(note: these are almost all the noteworthy pics IMO. I HATE scanning so I only took nearly all the principle pics).

Prettiest Marius/Cosette picture EVER:

That's all folks! I really hope you enjoyed these because it was a lot of work to scan them in.
Brunnhilde

I totally love you. *hugs her*

Glad you like! Which one do you like best?
Catherine

Great pictures! I love the dead!Enjolras one!
Aella

Great pics! Thanks for posting them.

I love the one of Eponine.

I like the picture of the foreman with Fantine. I don't think I've ever seen one of that moment before. Thanks for posting them all.

OT: When the foreman makes his move on Fantine, do you think it's more effective if he's subtler about it, like the Broadway revival foremen, or if he's more aggressive and scary, like the guy in that 3rd National Tour news segment that Quique has on Youtube? I've been fantasizing just for fun about how I'd stage the show if I ever could, but I've been torn about that part.

Kinda OT: Why is nearly every Fantine in every CamMack production nowadays brunette and exotic looking? Whatever happened to all the Brick-accurate blondes of yesteryear? I have nothing against anyone playing the role, but still, it's weird that what used to be the exception has become the norm in terms of casting her.
Quique

Gracias!!! <3

I love your scruffy, evil-looking Javert. XD

Great pics!

Awww! These are great! Thanks! I love the Marius/Cosette ones at the wedding. D'awwwww.

Question: Is Gavroche played by a woman? (... Sorry if he's not and that's sort of offensive. d'oh! )
Orestes Fasting

Interesting. Almost everyone in the cast looks very different from how I'd picture their characters, but the production overall looks adorable.

Also, Cosette's hair is beautiful. Historically inaccurate, but gorgeous all the same.
Vanessa20

I'm always curious about everything

How is it historically inaccurate?

I'm so glad you scanned it, because I had totally forgotten that I had promised to do it... Embarassed Embarassed
My favourite is no doubt, the one with Gavroche (no, it's not a woman). That's the kid I saw when I went to Rotterdam and I absolutely loved him. He is the best Gavroche I've ever seen. He was so natural and credible, and sweet and fun at the same time...
I loved his "general lamarque is dead". The sad way most kids deliver the line as if it was a big drama is kind of absurd, specially since the boys respond to it with such a burst of enthousiam (something like: "Finally! It was time! Now we have an excuse to start our revolution). This kid was simply annoyed because he had interesting news and no one listened to him. I loved it.
And his interaction with Javert, and his death... and he was cute.

About the Fantines, I don't understand it either. It's like if there was a new rule consisting on never casting anyone who can remotely look like Fantine.
Although I prefer a blonde Fantine, I don't really care about the dark hair and skin or exotic looks. But what I don't like at all is that all the new Fantines have a similar physical type. They are very short but strong built at the same time. They never look frail and delicate...
lesmisloony

Oooh shiny! I ganked those M/C wedding pics, the ADORABLE Gavroche (this said by a proclaimed Gavroche hater), and the sweet cuddly M/C picture... couldn't help m'self.

Just the fact that she had her hair down, completely loose, which would've been considered quite improper.

I suppose, looking back on it, that most stage Cosettes have their hair at least somewhat loose (in fact I think Rebecca Caine was the only one to have a real updo), but at least partially pulled back or put in sausage curls. I guess I was struck by this Cosette's long, pretty hair just flowing down her back like that.

For me, Ren is an ideal Valjean. He's now fighting with JOJ in my heart.

And Wim is sooo spaghetti-western-villain-like. *loves him*
What is this new tendency that Javert is unshaven but has no sideburns? See Christian Mller and Chris Murray, too.
They need a close shave. *evil*

Marius & Cosette: totally adorable. My favourite Cosette is the Long Island High school's one. They had wonderful kids. But these pairing is so cute.

And I have to say, I don't like this Enjolras. He looks like some latino macho mixed with a Jew, he's ugly *stones here!*, and nothing like angelic!blonde!book!Enjy. I generallly hate when Enjy has dark wig, but if he's pretty, it's okay. Ok, he has a good voice, but I need illusion, too.
My fave Enjy is still Martin Pasching. Blondie. *sigh*

Thnardiers: adore them.

You don't like Freek's Enjolras? Now that's SACRILEGE!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
No, really, I understand how you can get the latin macho impression from the pics, but really, he is nothing like that.
Yes, he is dark skinned (more like indian or arabic. definitely not latin), but he is a very beliveable Enjolras. On stage he looks very pretty, and much younger than the other boys, and he is thin and more ephebic looking than any other enjolras I've seen.

And his acting is very OC too. He is very calm, and distant, and comanding (in scenes like "Javert's arrest" or "Gavroches' death" he never has to run or raise his voice or do anything "special" to make the others obey), and he has his untouchable "aura" around him, and the way he moves Drool ...
Believe me, when you see him on stage you have all the illusion you need. He is very very far away from a latin macho or a GI Joe!!

i think it's probably a way of opening the show to more than just the blondes, or the people who like blondes in the role, because it's more faithful to the book. so many productions have fantine as dark blonde now, which is great, cuz i've got dark blonde hair Rolling Eyes
Brunnhilde

I saw a lot of little clips with the cast, but the dude still looks not my cup of tea. Rene, Wim or even Jamai is way prettier. Embarassed

Wim. *sigh* He has that "bulldog" look I adore, but why can't he shave?
bigR

Of course, if you thik he is ugly, you do. That's totally subjective.

But no way can he be considered a latin macho simply because he is not blond!!!
His take on the character couldn't be farther away from "overtly masculine GI Joe" and he clearly goes for brick!Enjolras.

Shocked He still really looks like a woman to me. >.< Laughing

Oh well--he looks like he'd be a good Gavroche anyway. XD

Brunnhilde! Your new banner is AMAZING! (I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but you'll want to correct "being" to "were.") It made me sporfle liek whoa.

I love the Gavroche picture! So cute!
