Suggestions for mini Les Mis??

Hey everyone,
I am thinking of directing a Variety Show in which I would love to stage some of Les Miserables, however I only have enough time to use four or five songs, chorus and solos. Crying or Very sad Could anyone give me suggestions on songs to include which would tell most of the story?? My own idea would be to use 'At the End of The Day', Castle on a Cloud, Who am I?, Lovely Ladies, One Day More, but Im not sure how to put them together..... Confused

I hate leaving out parts but it must be done, and Im stuck on which plotline to leave in!! d'oh!

help would be very much appreciated.....! thanks!! Very Happy

well, what is the audience for this? because if there may be younger kids or it's for school i'm not sure lovely ladies would be the best thing to do....

honestly, you should probably go for the well-known/famous stuff and stuff you're going to be able to find a cast for.

Damn.

And here I thought you were using it a la "Mini-Wicked," as in, "How can Les Miserables be staged with a minimum of cast members and budget, and still be a great show?"

Hmm yes sorry, I should have mentioned the audience....itll be performed in a University, so the audience would be adult. Id have no prblem getting cast, its just how to best tell the story through the songs.....?? Smile
