The Ideal, Superlative Cast

Hello,
Im sure that this topic has been spread over many many threads, however would like to bring them into one. I would just be very interested to know, if you had a choice to put together your favorite cast so they could perform in London (Or wherever you live), what would it be? Mine would probably go like this:
Jean Valjean - Colm Wilkinson / JOJ
Javert - Philip Quast
Fantine - Debbie Byrne
Marius - Michael Ball
Cosette - Tracey Shayne
Enjolras - Anthony Warlow
MMe T - Jenny Galloway
Thenardier - Barry James
Eponine - Kaho Shimada
Orestes Fasting

Ditto the Tenth Anniversary Concert cast completely, except Anthony Warlow instead of Michael Maguire, Rebecca Caine instead of Judy Kuhn, and Frances Ruffelle instead of Lea Salonga. Oh, and replace the "You at the barricade, listen to this" guy with whoever sang it on the OLC.

Jean Valjean - Colm Wilkinson/Randal Keith (though i haven't seen him because i live in London, i love his voice)/ John Owen Jones
Javert - Michael Mccarthy/Phillip Quast
Fantine - Joanna Ampil
Marius - Michael Ball << i would rather it be someone else, but i can't think who right now.
Enjolras - Ramin Karminloo
Eponine - Frances Ruffelle
Cosette - Lydia Griffiths
Mme Thenardier - Katy Secombe
Thenardier - Alun Armstrong

This is a plea for this to be the last topic about ideal casts for Les Mis. Ever. Or I'm gonna scream.

Anyway:
Valjean: Jeff Leyton
Javert: Philip Quast
Fantine: Carmen Cusack
Marius: Niklas Andersson
Enjolras: Warlow, if it was just a concert thingy, if it had to be the age, I'll say Ramin Karimloo, as enough people seem to like him. I've not seen him.
Eponine: Lea Salonga, if age didn't matter, if it did, Sophia Ragavelas
Cosette: Lydia Griffiths
Thenardier: Stephen Tate
Mme T: Claire Moore, I've not seen her yet, but the woman can do anything.

I reckon that any others that are created after this one should be utilised to discuss other more interesting subjects than favourite casts... like broccoli, irregular verbs in different languages and socks. Wink

Unrelated questions

nevermind. I meant to post this as a new topic
flying_pigs

Valjean- Colm Wilkinson
Javert- Philip Quast or Michael McCarthy, I saw him and he was just amazing!
Fantine- Ruthie Henshall
Marius- Michael Ball, other people may not like him as much but I really do!
Eponine- Frances Ruffelle, I just think she captures the street Eponine feel!
Enjolras- Tough choice, but as I actually saw Oliver Thornton I'll say him!
Cosette- Tracy Shayne
Thnardier- Alun Armstrong
Mme Thnardier- Katy Secombe

and just an end note, I love Anthony Crivello as Grantaire, he has such a lovely voice!
The Very Angry Woman

How many of you have actually seen, in the context of the show, any of these performers live?

Of those mentioned here, I have only seen Randal Keith live in the show. There are those I have only heard on various recordings, TAC, CSR ect...

Can we have a pinned one of these topics please? I think I'm developing RSI from writing out my ideal cast so many times...
Quique

Cast?

Heehee, well my ideal cast changes all the time, so it's cool to have this pop-up every now and then. Razz

I'll post mine a bit later, have to think about it.

Irregular verbs in different languages, says you?

Ser

soy
eres
es
I forgot the rest and can't be bothered to find my Spanish textbook

On a slightly more serious note, I'm never sure when to use ser and when to use estar, can anyone fill me in?

Soy
Somos
Eres
Estais/Estan (the latter is more formal)
Es
Estan

As a basic rule of thumb, 'ser' implies permanance while 'estar' is more temporary:

Soy estadounidense
Estoy sentada
Quique

Yikes!

Ser: He/she is to be (El/ella va ser), you are to be (tu seras), how can it be? (como puede ser?), it can't be! (No puede ser!).

"Ser" generally addresses an individual.

Estar: He/she is going to be (El/ella va estar)

Shocked

YIKES! "Up-in-arms!!!" Now, I'm confused!

Where's J.P. when you need him?

Estar: He/she is going to be (El/ella va estar)

Since when was that the case?

going by the description, I'm guessing he has looked it up. However, I am probably mistaken

Am I really that off? Shocked

The funny thing is, I'm a fluent Spanish speaker but I learned it by ear from growing-up around it. I guess when you learn it that way, it just comes naturally. But when it comes to the rules and all, I suck at it like you won't believe.

How embarassing Embarassed

*shrug* That's what most of the textbooks I've encountered say. Granted I'm not a native speaker, but I've never come across anything to suggest the aforementioned rule was incorrect.
