Mr. Todd |
Thenardier G#?I am auditioning for Thenardier this week. The second day of audtitions will be cuttings from the show itself. I have been listening to the CD (10th ann.) and cannot find his G#. I cannot find it. It's at the top of my range and I'd like to practice it ahead of time if possible. Does anyone know where it is? Thanks. |

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but I'd go with "The Bargain" AKA "Waltz of Treachery". When he sings with Mme. Then. (the G# is capitalized)
One thing more, one small doubt There are treacherous people about No offense, please reflect Your intentions may not BE correct He's singing this in harmony. I think that may be what you're looking for. |

Okay thanks so much! If it's a G Natural in the Student Edition that should make it even easier. Thanks again!

I have heard a few Thenardiers go specifically out-of-tune on WoT, and it actually sounded...alright. Once in a while. It depended on what "kind" of Thenardiers they were being, though, because if they weren't particularily harsh or weasely, it sounded like shyte.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to sing it in falsetto as long as it's somewhat loud. Our Thenardier had the most nasal character voice I think I've ever heard (he's currently playing the Wicked Witch of the West at my high school) and was superb so vocal quality isn't always the most important thing with M. and Mme. Thenardier.
