UK Tour

Les Mis is coming to Manchester at the end of this month and I can't wait!
Has it stopped anywhere else yet?
Anyone else going to see it?

Gareth Gates is playing Marius so I'm not sure what to expect, but if anyone has seen him please tell what he's like!

We have a thread for this already..
It's currently in its last week at Cardiff, and is also going to Norwich, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Paris. And may include an American leg.

I have deleted this post, as it has caused offence.

I think everyone on this forum is familiar with the story.
Also, is that meant to be a synopsis of the book or the musical? Either way, it is rather inaccurate.
Valjean does not plan to rob the bishop and then decide not to do so. He does rob the bishop and it is the bishop's forgiveness that leads to his reformation. He is not mayor while bringing up Cosette - he has had to leave the town where Fantine lived and where he was mayor because he admitted to being Valjean. Doesn't say much about 'the revolution' either.

Wink I'm sure you meant well by linking that, but ... no one really asked for the plot. In a dead topic. And that summary is awful.

Wait a minute - didn't you write that synopsis? And the review you posted earlier? This isn't a forum for advertising your own writing (particularly if it isn't very good).

I know that most people on here are experts on musicals, but it is for the people who go for the first time, like myself who did not know the story. I liked it so much, I will go again, as one visit does not give one time to take in every aspect of it.

I don't think you needed to be quite so rude, but there you are!
Eppie-Sue

Well, if you haven't even managed to "take in every aspect" yourself, maybe you should wait a bit before trying to educate others here and on WOS. That summary wouldn't help many, I think people do pick up on the fact that Eponine is in love with Marius and Javert commits suicide.

The people who post on a Les Miserables forum are going to know about the story. And there are better synopses available on the website and in the programmes and stuff.

But that wasn't my point. You were posting it as though you hadn't written it, which comes across, to me, as advertisement. You said you found it helpful - but unless you wrote it without having seen the show, then it wasn't around to help you. You could simply have told us you wrote it instead of being dishonest.

[To say nothing of the first night review you posted, which you 'found' and in which you apparently thought that ALFOR was a duet with Cosette - clearly anyone who knows that it isn't is a true Les Mis fan]

Les Mis has been my fave musical (except Phantom) for about 5 years, so when I heard it was coming to Manc. I HAD to buy tickets. Anyway, I was unsure about Gareth, but I have to say - best Marius EVER. He totally stole the show.

The whole cast is fab, particularly John (my fave Jean Valjean), Gareth and Earl! <3
