When will the next US tour start up?

Would you assume that there will be a new one in the next five years?

I live in the Chicago area, and I just really got into this show a few months ago.

Will I have to tide myself over with school editions? How long do you think it'll be?

I'm not an insider or anything, but I doubt there'll be another tour. Regional productions have started cropping up; maybe there will be one in Chicago soon.

There were rumors of a non-Equity tour, but that may not happen until the revival closes so the physical production can be used for that hypothetical new tour.
Etoile

I'm in the same dilemma. I just saw the show for the first time and heard of it for the first time when it came to Minneapolis last year. Of course, that was the final tour...

But the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre is doing a production of it this summer, so I'm not sure about another tour.

Well, as far as I know it's still up in the air. If Cammack realizes licensing the show to major regional houses may prove more (or less?) profitable than handing the show over to Big League or Troika or what not, then things may change. He's probably testing the waters right now since the number of theatres putting on Les Miz has been publicized as limited.

I really hope the tour starts up again, even though it's non-equity, and will likely use stupid Sinfonias. It's better than nothing.

I hate it that the nearest regional production is going to be in Sacramento. I may or may not fly up there to see it.

If you have another option, take it. Sacramento has stupidly-named streets, stupidly-designed freeways, and stupid summer weather.

I hope it does start up again.

Let's see Rutherford or Keith back in the role of Valjean.

Near Chicago, hm?

The Marriott Lincolnshire theatre will be performing the show in 2007 or 2008 -- I swear. Here's their site, which doesn't mention the show. But I swear.

That's not going to happen if it's non-Equity.

I saw that. Very Happy

Thanks a lot, I may have to check that out when more information becomes available. Do you happen to know anything about that company?

I've never seen a show there, but their reputation is quite good.

Check out some photos from their production of Miss Saigon:

Les Mis Tour

I don't know about a tour...however starting April 27 through (May 12, June 9, June 16,) June 23, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Pioneer Theatre Company is the first Regional company to do the show since the touring company closed.

The reason for the dates in the parenthesis is that they have just announced today, April 1, another extension of dates. This is the 4th extension.

They also announced that the leads will be William Solo and Merwin Foard.

I am so excited. I am for sure going to 2 shows (one is front row) and as many more as I can. They had a special ticket this year called Rush Pass...the only requirement was you had to be there 1 hour before the show and you get what ever the best seat is available. It only cost $99.00. When i found out they were doing Les Mis...I got it.

I really wish they would do another U.S. tour. I never got to see it. And I don't think they would have trouble selling it because of the success of the Broadway revival.
