it's not a spelling error as such but a guy involved with our LMSE insisted on calling Cossette "Collette" for the whole thing despite being told otherwise everytime. Luckily he wasn't allowed to make a speech! | ||||

I've seen Enjoloras and Enjloras, both of which are pretty bad. But the most embarrassing spelling error I ever saw was "Comberferre"--in a 3NT playbill. Shame! | ||||

John Von John. In a book summary (not the actual book, thank heavens, just the site summary.) And like everyone else, I've seen my share of Enjoloras or Enojrlas...etc. He's just doomed to have his name constantly misspelled. | ||||

This isn't a spelling mistake, but one of my friends keeps calling Eponine 'Epiffony'! She hadn't seen Les Mis, or read the book, so I was willing to forgive her. But then another friend who had seen it (I dragged her there) then also called her that. |

And mispronounced. I stopped calling myself by my character name and used "I play the leader of the revolution" cos every single person I spoke to had a different problem with my French. 
We eventually solved the problem by referring to him as En-lingerie for the entirety of the run. |

I get more of a kick out of the many crazy pronunciations.
On one of my YouTube videos, an entertainment reporter says "Ja-vey," instead of "Javert." :S Others I've heard throughout the years... "Faan-teen" "Ep-oh-9" "Ja-vart" "Le Mirage" "Less Miss-er-ehl-uh-bis" "Ley Miser-ah-bull" "Gav-roach" "Ten-ar-dee-urs" "Jeen Valjeen" "Cuss-ette" "Mary-ooze" "Enjoy-ray" :S |

Also, bad pronunciation is usually due to the French spellings.
Hehe. One of my friends once claimed that she was good with French names, so I wrote down the names of all the Amis and told her to pronounce them. Poor, poor Feuilly. 'Foo-ee-lly' |

"Fuh-yee," more or less. The first syllable is more like a mix between the the "u" in "put" and the "e" in "let." Or, if you're Kevin Earley, you can get away with "Fwee." |

This thread makes me laugh SO hard! The 1998 movie has many misspellings. In the credits they named Grantaire, Granteir, and more stuff like that. I also dislike Les Miserable. *shudder* |

One of the 1970s films of Les Miserables I saw (can't remember exact date) pronounced Thenardier with a soft 'th' sound, as in 'thing'. My French teacher is living proof that the 'th' sound is not used in the French language. He can't pronounce it, and everyone torments him because of it. | ||||

You know what? Its a mirical I can spell my own name. Most misspellings I've seen... have been mine. ...Combferret is probably my faverite. And I sometimes get the word epitome mixed up with Eponine. I once had to request a friend of mine give me back the birthday card I sent them, because I wrote "You are the eponine of amazing"

Bear with me, but I'm kinda new to the musical. I fell in love with it just this past June when I saw it at the Queen's. So, how do you pronounce most of the names, anyway? Especially with all the students and with Bamatabois??

Another spelling mistake: the soundtrack 1998 movie contains a track entitled "The death of Fantine". Every time I play it in RealPlayer it names the track "The death of Fontaine". Also, a dictionary of famous literature characters seriously informs us, that Les Miserables include many death scenes, for example, at the barricade of Rue de la Chaver died such guys as revolutionary named Enloras and a boy called Gavorsz. |
