Young CosetteI am auditioning for young Cosette for a production of Les Miserables in the fall but my parents say that I'm getting too tall. But then I had an idea. What if Cosette was stronger than Eponine only Eponine was stronger in name? That's going back to the whole Javert Vs. Valjean. Valjean is a "stronger man by far" only Javert is higher in name. So, my question is; Is this a good idea?
Also, If the director had the same idea, would I have a chance at getting the part?

I think you're looking too deep. TBH the director will make their choice on talent and appeal. Our little Cosette was actually taller than our Mme. T but this worked because she looked quite like our older Cosette who was in fcat quite tall herself. There are alot of factors that dictate how a director will or wont cast. I think you should audition, but don't try to justofy why you are or why you aren't cast.
Good luck.

Good luck. All of our little Cosettes were about 8 or 9 and very strong singers- so they were all small, but they were definitely cast on their voices rather than height. So don't fret about your height, just think about singing the best you can - in the end, being cast comes down to so many factors you have no control over, so don't worry about it.
Best of luck!

I played Annie in 4th grade and I was tallest in the cast (it was a children's production though) so I'm sure you'll be fine! Good luck at the audition!
