I've been away from the forum for almost two months now, and due to circumstances I'm about to disclose, I still won't be able to come back and be a full-time member for a little while now.
Several nights ago, I had the misfortune of stumbling across a marvelously hacked website. Within seconds, my computer was loaded with 158 pieces of spyware, as well as multiple trojans and worms. My father gallantly tried to save my computer so I could back up everything, but alas, the task proved too difficult even for him: Thanatos was overrun and had to be wiped. I'm very upset about the loss of several things from this wipe, including pictures of my cousin's babyshower, a few papers I hadn't backed up yet, and--of course--my graphical pursuits, including Mizzies. Unfortunately, I planned to back up Mizzies the very night that my computer became infested, and instead, I lost everything. Hence, I am forced to draw Mizzies to a premature close at #24. I had strips planned up through #43, and I'm sorry that you'll never get to see the arrival of Joly and Courfeyrac, Valjean pulling a Mrs. Lovett, Enjolras thinking Grantaire slept with Marius, and several marvelous antics pulled off by the eeeeevil teddy bear known as Stabby. I'm using my brother's computer right now, but as soon as I have my desktop computer loaded with the information I DID manage to save, I'll archive all of the Mizzies as a single-page website. Thank you again for all of your support; you really helped bring Mizzies alive and supplied me with a lot of really awesome ideas. I'll be back on the forum as a full-time member before the year is out, but for now, I have to prepare for a lot of real-life occurrences and craft my computer back to his original glory. Ladies and gentlemen, I have some wonderful news!
1. I've finally started to make the archive website. Soon all of the Mizzies will be available from one website. 2. Obviously, my desktop PC is up and running again! It still needs a lot of programs added on and some buffing up, but it's fully running and ready. 3. The big news: it turns out I backed up Mizzies a good while ago, when it was in its earliest stages. Hence, I have the basic layout and a few of the earlier Mizzie characters--Eponine, Valjean, Javert, Cosette, and Montparnasse--backed up. I don't think I'll be re-using these, however, since I'd have to recreate the barricade boys and other supporting characters, and I'd had to have their designs change suddenly. HOWEVER, it has inspired me to consider taking Mizzies back up again. Mind you, I'm taking 6 classes and a part-time job this semester, and I'm not even back on the forum full-time yet...BUT. If I have as much downtime at this job as I had at my last one, there may be some poorly-drawn Mizzies. That's right: I'm thinking of starting up the second half of Mizzies as poorly-drawn pseudo-stick figures. I can't promise anything for now, and I certainly can't return Mizzies to its original glory...but there's hope that Mizzies may return again, someday, in some form. =) I'll post a link to the website when it's uploaded and finished; it may take me a few days or a few weeks, depending. Thanks again for all of your support! |
